Because the fonts in Apple's printers are owned by Adobe, and licensed for use in LW's. Apple can't use those fonts outside the LW's without paying additional licensing fees to Adobe. Avoidance of those licensing fees is the only substantial reason I can see for TrueType to exist at all. Basically, you have to wait for Apple to recreate those fonts in TrueType form.
