X11R4 added some new "tricks"; if one doesn't use any of the new tricks, R3 servers should do fine. (Sorry, I can't explain *why* I believe this...) P.S.: I shouldn't call a memory leak a "virus". Mole/Pig/Hog perhaps, but not a virus.
