New Orlean's Chocolate Cake 2 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1 dash salt 1 tsp soda mix and set aside 1/2 cup butter 4 tbsp cocoa 1/2 cup oil 1 cup water bring to a boil, take off heat & add 3 eggs - 1 at a time, beating after each. then add: 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla add above to flour mixture and stir. pour into a greased & floured half sheet cake pan. bake for 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven. 10 minutes before cake is done, bring to boil: 1/2 cup butter 4 tbsp cocoa 6 tbsp buttermilk take off heat & add 1 pound powder sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla pour over hot cake & refrigerate
