  Can someone please give me references to arithmetic units which
  can do a fast log and antilog conversion of numbers? 
  If you have some experience with this, could you please give a
  comparison between hardcoded combinational logic conversion and
  a lookup type conversion. In terms of area/speed tradeoffs.
