I would like to know whether there are any public domain/or otherwise packages which let you transform your pc or Unix box into a fax sending machine.. This would come in very handy if one has to send regular ascii text often and does not have access to a fax machine *but has a PC sitting on the desk!* :-) I know that AT&T has started a system whereby one can actually login and type in mail (like E-mail) and then get their system to deliver the fax to any phone number.. I can find out more for those interested.. I think one needs to set up an account with AT&T -> membership is ~40 dollars/month. Once everything is setup, I think a Fax Page (with cover) costs 40cents anywhere in the US and there are ways of checking if your fax has been delivered or not. I think AT&T even offers special services like postscript ->document conversion etc. The neatest thing about is that one can either login to AT&T via modem (1-800 number) or access through the net.
