Version AA3.01-AB3.00 (aka Version 3), was the last version released for the original TrailBlazer. It would appear that this modem has been upgraded at some time in the past. Version 3 had the main characteristics of present-day Telebit modems. Protocol Support, oodles of S-registers, MNP3 (and a bit of MNP4), and PEP, though PEP Data Compression is not supported. > >Does anybody know if this is just an exterior repackaging, or has >Racal-Milgo done anything special to the modem? > Nothing out of the ordinary about it, especially if it has the Ver 3 firmware chips installed. There is a trade-in to a T2500 available, but the price may be more than you might pay some of the mail-order sources for the same modem. Check with Telebit tech support if you want to investigate that option. > >Who is Racal-Milgo? I believe Vadic made lower speed modems and Milgo made higher speed ones - at least for a while. (one reason they OEM'ed the TB from Telebit) Modems aren't the only products Milgo makes, but I don't know too much about them. >* Chip Roberson, RD&E -*- Internet Domain: * -- .------------------------------------------------------------------------. | Greg Andrews | UUCP: {apple, amdahl, claris}!netcom!gandrews | | | Internet: gandrews@netcom.COM | `------------------------------------------------------------------------'
