I would like to obtain information on any visualization/rendering packages
(as opposed to CAD packages) which are currently available for either SUNs
(preferably) and/or Silicon Graphics machines and which run under X11.
The package would be used in an academic/research environment.

Specifically, I'd like to know who distributes it (and who I can contact
to get more information), cost, what level of interactive viewing it will 
support, how it represents and manipulates objects, and what type of
rendering it will perform.
