Although I have Desqview and several versions of VI, including the
MKS version, I never got around to trying them together.  I will
now.  Until then, Quarterdeck has a BBS and they are very good
about answering application questions to messages left on their
board.  The phone number is 213-396-3904.  The board responds
to any bps rate.
