First, I am trying to assign the ip numbers with a rarpd server, of which there are plenty on our net (suns, mostly, if not exclusively). That means I am assigning the number by SERVER, not dynamically like I stated in my previous article. Sorry for my confusion... I just got the names of the modes (server and dynamically) confused in the posting. I tried a mac in the same segment with a different interface (Asante card), and it rarped fine. I have checked the ethernet address for the NuvoLink SC interface, and it is correct. I'm mostly interested to hear from someone who is running with the Obtain Address from SERVER switch set with my setup, although once again, any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again, Vaughan -- VaughAn Turner Internet: vturner@nmsu.edu Networking/Workstation Support Box 30001, Dept. 3AT Computer Center, Networking/WSC Las Cruces, New Mexico New Mexico State University 88003-0001 Bitnet: vturner@nmsu UUCP: ucbvax!nmsu.edu!vturner Work: (505) 646-4244 FAX: (505) 646-5278 Home: (505) 522-3653 Home Address: 1115 Larry Drive Las Cruces, New Mexico 88001-5457 "...the first rule of engineering [is] to work with Earth's natural forces, never against them."
