Summary: How to get localtalk packets from one subnet to another? Keywords: kfp bridge localtalk ethernet appletalk Message-ID: <7663@mace.cc.purdue.edu> Date: 5 Jun 91 21:23:12 GMT References: <1991Jun2.014016.447@ac.dal.ca> Reply-To: duncan@mace.cc.purdue.edu (Malcolm Duncan) Organization: Purdue University Lines: 25 We have an IBM RT running 4.3 UNIX (don't snicker) with two ethernet cards. On each ethernet subnet(card) are a string of Fastpath 4's. Each subnet has a logical zone name. Appletalk packets are merrily being exchanged between all of the Fastpaths on a particular subnet. Appletalk packets are NOT being transferred from one subnet to the other. That is, people running the Chooser while attached to a Fastpath on one subnet can NOT see any devices attached to any of the Fastpaths on the other subnet. Is there a way to make devices on both subnets visible to users on both subnets? I understand that this is a routing problem. Can it be solved by setting up a routing on the UNIX box? Does it require specific KFP configuration? Does it require a separate bridge? I have been playing telephone tag with Shiva tech support for over a week without any promising results.
