Just finished reading the May 1991 Byte article entitled 'Browsing
Through Terabytes'.  It mentioned a NISO standard protocol Z39.50
and the WAIS protocol developed by Thinking Machines, but doesn't give
any obvious references as to where I can get more info on
these protocols.  Anyone have any idea where I can get more info
about them?
