Typically this would be something looking like what Meridian Data Inc in Scotts Valley offers for PC networks. It should include a reasonable number of CD-ROM drives, possibly a magnetic disk acting as a cache and present an NFS I/F on the network. Whether the server itself runs UNIX is partly irrelevant but it would be nice for performance and upgradability (AFS server for example). Thanks in advance for an advice E-mail and I will summarize to alt.cd-rom if applicable. -- Jacques Talbot Bull at MIPS 928 Arques Avenue Sunnyvale CA 94088-3650 USA Email:talbot@mips.com Bulltex:J.TALBOT Tel:(1)408 524 8380 FAX:(1)408 524 8401
