I'd much rather be able to use C or maybe Modula2 for the programming in the Numeric Analysis course that I am doing. The Linpack, Eispack, et.al packages do a really fine job but it is a real pain having to dredge the sludge out of my brain to find my scarce fortran programming skills. I could see my self using these wonderful routines more often and not just in NA courses if they were in something less painful than fortran is. Any one willing to take up the effort/challenge ?
