If you ever hold a job which requires dealing with a large cross-section of the public (most retail sales positions) you quickly develop a deep disrespect for the quality of education in this country :-) Sure it's knee-jerk. You only meet these people for a few minutes each. I don't *really* believe that most people are stupid, but it's hard not to think this occasionally when most of the people you meet seem unable to think their way out of a paper bag.
