(Since the way I download the program is >IBM 3081 -> Mac -> GS -> UnBinSCII -> UnshrinkIt... very tedious!) As I recall, your original post stated that you were getting the .Z files from wuarchive.wustl.edu. Wuarchive is using a wierd version of FTP which can automatically uncompress .Z files while you're FTPing them. When you see a file called .Z, just type "get " (without the .Z on the end). This is explained in the README file in the root directory. (It is usually a good idea to read any README files that you find when FTPing.) >Hope somebody will help. Anyway, FTP.APPLE.COM does not allow me to ftp, >and I cannot find APPLE2.ARCHIEVE.UMICH.EDU. Now the only place I can >get softwares is TYBALT.CALTECH.EDU. I'm afraid I can't help you with ftp.apple.com--it's always worked just fine for me (although Apple's other site, apple.com, has occasionally flaked out on me). As for apple2.archiEve.umich.edu--is that really how you're spelling it, or was that just a typo? If that's how you're really spelling it, then that's the problem--it's "apple2.ARCHIVE.umich.edu", without the extra E. Anyway...here's my personal list of Apple II FTP sites and mail servers, with numeric Internet addresses (which will probably work if your site can't find the full names). (If anybody out there has any additions or corrections for this list, please send them to me--I'm trying to put together the Definitive List of Apple II PD/freeware/shareware/info sites.)
