Keywords: DECpc 433 Workstation 486DX Message-ID: Date: 5 Jun 91 20:25:34 GMT Sender: usenet@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (News) Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 38 Hi there, I've been looking at those giant adds in the trade journals for the DECpc 433 Workstation, and I've got a few questions. What's special about the 486DX? Is it different from a plain 486? Is a coprocessor an option? What's the performance like? MFLOP? MIPS? SPEC? Will it conform to ACE standards? Is it upgradable to a MIPS chip? What's the standard configuration, i.e. how much memory, how much disk space, what external ports are there, what software comes with, etc.? What's the internal bus? EISA? Is it accessible? Who makes the monitor? DEC? Hitachi? Sony (Trinitron)? Runs OSF/1? Anybody had any experience with these? The network readiness and big screen are seem good features. Thanks! tim.
