Well, depending upon how crazy you want to get about it,  if "DD" is available
on ms-dos you could "simply" use something like "dd if=a: of=c:\junkfile"
and make an image that way.  I *do* know that some of the PC-based tar programs
(like pax) can *write* a floppy without having the ms-dos filesystem on
that floppy (i.e. it writes a "raw" cpio or tar file on the floppy), but
I do not know if pax can act like "dd".  If it can, then you could use it
to create an image, compress it (since I bet that you would get a moderate
amount of compression here).

(I just checked picnix, DD was not there - maybe the other vendor
with unix-like tools for Dos (sorry, I've spaced their name!) has it).

Well, sorry I was not more help.  I don't normally read this group (shucks,
I rarely manage to keep up in the groups I'm REQUIRED to read for my job!),
so if anyone wishes to correspond with me they will have the best luck
doing it via email :-)  (However, email can be finicky.  Best bet is
to include a ".uucp" after "anasaz", as in "anasaz.uucp!rusty@asuvax")
