Many thanks to everyone who made suggestions concerning my Excel
problem - I have stumbled into a solution that apparently solves my
problem by deleting the system files (by manually trashing the files)
and reloading a new copy of 6.0.7.  This procedure apparently differs
from simply installing a new copy of the system with INSTALLER.  I am
in the process of reinstalling my necessary DA's and fonts.  I would
conclude from this that a DA was somehow screwing up EXCEL.  I am not a
curious enough MAC user to investigate the causes of a mystery once a
the problem is corrected.  Again, thanks for all your help.
