Keywords: FastPath 5 vs. GatorBox CS Message-ID: <24037@natinst.natinst.com> Date: 3 Jun 91 15:11:26 GMT Article-I.D.: natinst.24037 Followup-To: poster Organization: National Instruments, Austin, TX Lines: 19 We had a FastPath 4 and a GatorBox. We recently upgraded the GatorBox to a GatorBox CS. Now we have the option of upgrading the FastPath 4 to either a GatorBox CS (for $1195) or a FastPath 5 ($1299). We've had reasonably good success with both kinds of boxes. We've had excellent, excellent response from Cayman when we've had problems. I worry that the FastPath has led such a foster-parent existence (Kinetics, Excelan, Novell, Shiva), and that this has adversely affected the product and its support. (I know I never got good support after Kinetics was bought by Excelan, but I haven't dealt with Shiva.) I'm leaning toward trading in our KFPS-4 on a GatorBox CS. Am I making a mistake? (E.g., is the KFPS-5 much better than the GB-CS? Is K-Star 9.0 much better than GatorSystem 1.x? Is Shiva support much better than Cayman's?) Please respond by email. Thanks. Brian H.
