1)  The color version of BattleChess for the Mac will have 256 colors.  The
    price to pay for that capability is that the color version will only be
    available on CD-ROM.  No 16-color version will be available.

2)  Dynamix is planning to release Heart of China and Rise of the Dragon
    for the Mac.  A 256 color version is "under consideration".
