I just got off the phone today with Farallon.  They told me that Liaison
does not use standard protocol in accessing the serial ports, so unfortunately
extra serial ports cannot be accessed by Liaison.  They also said that it's
not likely to happen in the near future.

To those who responded, thank you very much.  It truly helped a great deal.
