This word tells the Window Manager that you want special placement of the window, such as "Alert position 1/3 from the top." There is also a full API for this sort of ability. This stuff is currently undocumented. There are minor bugs with parts of it. I dunno what the official ruling is on it. Someday, it might get fixed up and documented, maybe not. Experiment if you feel comfortable doing so. You might look at the "new" 7.0 Desk Accessories and control panels. I think that some of them use this for their windows.
