I just cannot seem to get the software to modify the kernel. The one on uunet seems buggy---the tar file does not untar properly. Besides it is in the directory /comp.sources.unix/volume24/sysVr4386slip, which seem to suggest that it is for sysVr4 machines. I also looked at wuarchive.wustl.edu and found some random slip related files.
