(almost once every two weeks at some point) There are over 30+ servers and over 100+ diskless workstations in the building. Each time a scheduled power transfer occur, the system administration staff in different departments have to halt and power down all equipment. My question is, is it necessary to 'halt' or 'fasthalt' an inactive diskless workstation (e.g. SUN-SLC/NeXT) before powering down? -- ------------------------------------------------------------ Albert Pang Information Networks & Systems Lab McGill University
