The problem has something to : do with ownership or permissions of my /dev/ttyF07 (modem port) on my : Computone ALC card."uucp" is the owner/group of the port. It seems that : every time uucp is run the permissions & ownership change to those needed : by uucp, but then VPIX can't acces that port on bootup. The only thing I found had to be done on our system (386 with Digiboard & SCO XENIX 2.3.3) was to make sure the port that COMM1 was mapped to in VP/ix was disabled before VP/ix was booted. I don't recall the error message given by VP/ix if the port was enabled, but disabling the port solved it. : Mel Shear : !rex!fleet!mel -- Bill Irwin - The Westrheim Group - Vancouver, BC, Canada ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ uunet!van-bc!twg!bill (604) 431-9600 (voice) | Your Computer bill@twg.bc.ca (604) 430-4329 (fax) | Systems Partner
