Occassionally I've seen the following: (1) rcp and rsh work from one of the systems but not from the other. The rcp simply returns without copying anything and rsh hangs. (2) Extra rsh daemon around (sometimes as defunct). Sometimes killing this extra rshd restores the 2 systems into working condition. (3) ": Connection refused".
