Operation Lines: 12 The only reason I can think of is that someone installed an autoexecutable application that does that for you (look in the win.ini file under 'run='). I have seen a number of programs for windows that will do just that, altho I have never used one. Also, when you are changing the wall paper, try using the 'control panel' program. Within this utility there is a 'desktop' icon that when you select it will bring up a dialog box that will, among other things, allow you to change the wallpaper. This is a little bit easier than having to change the initialization files manually. Allan
