I'm sure you want the name of the machine ("payday") here instead.

From the NutShell Book on USENET & UUCP p172:

"The sys file should contain a line for every system for which you 
forward news...

Each line contains four fields:

- A system name
- The newsgroups to be forwarded to that system
- Flags describing connections
- The command to run to send news to the remote site. (If not the default)"
