Lines: 26 anne.jones is failing to insert proper `Sender:' headers if `inews' is run as part of a gateway process. If you jump over to alt.society.cu-digest, you'll find that the articles contain: Sender: @chinacat.unicom.com The problem is that if `inews' is run from a non-login process, anne.jones doesn't have a LOGNAME or USER to work with, and `who am i' isn't going to get a name from a /etc/utmp entry. My interim hack was to change the: inews -h to a: LOGNAME=cud-sender inews -h Probably the right way to do this would be to use `relaynews' instead. (I'd suggest it would be nice if anne.jones stuck in something -- `nobody' or `usenet' or something similar -- into the USER field if it comes up empty all other ways.) -- Chip Rosenthal | Don't play that Unicom Systems Development 512-482-8260 | loud, Mr. Collins.
