News.software.b is the de facto newsgroup for discussing generic news standards and other technical matters. I would consider it at least a little foolish for anybody involved heavily in developing a news-related package NOT to read news.software.b. I don't know of any more appropriate place to reach news developers. This is not to say that I believe that it's an ideal name, just that it *is* where the technical discussions occur. I'd prefer (for instance) news.software.transport, news.software.standards, etc.
