I would greatly appreciate if Configure understood that the installation
path is not always the access path.  Secondly because of this the files
and directories Configure checks for do not neccssarily exist (and one
does probably not want to create them just for Configures purpose).
It would be nice if the Makefile could distinguish between shareable
(text, scripts) and non-shareable files (executables).

Please ignore this article if this is already addressed.
