I would really appreciate e-mail from someone who has recently had fiber installed to replace coax. I imagine we would use FDDI A general idea of $/foot for : Existing conduit pulls New Conduit in open space Between buildings in existing cable trough How much does the installation/splicer-fuser equipment cost? How much are stand-alone repeaters Can existing coax in a conduit be replaced with fiber? Again, rough estimates and how accurate they were (if you're not embarassed :) ) would be greatly appreciated! Also any pointers to trade magazine articles, especially Data Comm. and Network Management, or book references would be great. Larry Rogers lrogers@dt.navy.mil
