In partial thanks for this, I'd like to remind people that you can append the line --- .ex --- to force nroff(1) to exit. It then can be followed with raw text, such as design notes, to accompany the script. Dedicated to all who hate large blocks of comments sprinkled throughout an otherwise pristine script. :-) Joseph Beckenbach PS I don't know how this would interact with emacs perl-mode.
