I do some limited remote login via a modem from home and would _love_ to be able to use elm to read my mail, rather than the ucb mailer (yuk!). Anyway, so I got elm 2.3 and went through the Config. process. So, I do the make all thing and here's what I get: cd src; make - all chmod u+w ../hdrs/defs.h touch ../hdrs/defs.h chmod u+w ../hdrs/headers.h touch ../hdrs/headers.h cc -O -I../hdrs -c addr_util.c addr_util.c:45: no args to macro `index' addr_util.c:45: no args to macro `rindex' *** Exit 1 Stop. Now, I noticed elm not finding index in the configuration process -- it also couldn't find my c library... Anyway, I tried mailing elm@dsi.com and also its author, both of which bounced. So, if there's anyone out there that is willing to give me a hand in this, I'd sure appreciate it! (Please reply direct through email -- I'd be happy to post a summary of how to correctly install elm on a NeXT once I get it to work myself...) Thanks in advance! markus -- markus@u.washington.edu University of Washington _____________________________________________________________________
