Subject: Why is mail from UK so slow lately?

   I've found mail sent to/from JII.AFRC.AC.UK to/from Purdue University 
[through PURCCVM (bitnet) or vm.cc.purdue.edu (internet) I have no idea 
which] to be very slow the last week or so.  Mail used to take less than a 
day, usually 5 or 6 hours, but now takes two or three days.  Anyone know why 
this is?
   I apologize in advance if this not the right newsgroup in which to ask 
this or if this question has recently been answered.
