Don't ever do this. If someone has a packet that they think should go to your membership and you agree, then the two of you pick a bonded letter shop. The letter shop's bond is a promise that your list does not get "shared". The letter shop puts together the mailing and mails it. Your list, a very valuable asset, even if you scorn the value - others do not, does not get compromised. Your list is salted with a few names all over the country that let you know all uses that are made of your list. Let me say more about scorning the value of the list. You say you will never sell, but you will share. People who appreciate the value of their lists never sell. Neither do they share. They rent for purposes that are spelled out in the contract. The contract probably includes a copy of everything that is allowed to be mailed to the list under the contract. Any other use of the list is breach of contract and they sue. The list is salted so they know about such breach. Even if you give away for free the use of your list, do not give your list away. You might be dealing with an honest person just as naive as you. You also might be dealing with a thief who sees your naivety and plans to take advantage of it. Use the services of a third party to protect both of you. The third parties in the business of selling this service advertise in the Cleveland Yellow Pages under the heading "Advertising, Direct Mail". dan herrick herrickd@iccgcc.decnet.ab.com
