After a long phone conversion, I have been enlightened.  It seems that it
might be possible to boot CP/M-86 or some other OS provided it could run
on a bare-bones 8086 and depending on how it communications with BIOS.

Of course, now this is starting to get into the internals of OS/2 and how
it is implemented, which I know very little about.

My apologies for misleading anyone.  :(
