Keywords: local printer, interactive unix Message-ID: <1991Jun06.230906.20130@hgatenl.hobby.nl> Date: 6 Jun 91 23:09:06 GMT Distribution: comp Organization: Hobbynet Organisatie, Netherlands. Lines: 20 Today I just received the PC-NFS V-3.5 upgrade. One of the reasons for updating was the new feature that local PC printers could be used through the network. However I did not succeed in getting it running. This had nothing to do with the excellent step-by-step procedure from the manual. But with the fact that I'm not running BSD or SunOS, but Interactive 386/ix UNIX 2.2.1 (SYSV r3). The manual talks about an /etc/printcap but I think printing on SYSV does not go through /etc/printcap. So I would like to get a hint on how to get this feature running (Use the new rpc.pcnfsd? Or use the one that came with the OS?). Being on the subject I wonder if the rpc.pcnfsd.c program on the Server disk was ever tested on ISC (it contains a define hinting it has), because BSD style wait(2) is used there. (OK, the conversion is not that difficult, but as long as there are #defines ...) -- Henk Dijkstra || domain: henk@hgatenl.hobby.nl Hobbynet User Group, Netherlands. || Tel: (+31) 3240-61683 (Voice)
