We are considering using a ten bit subnet mask, 255.255.255.192, for a soon to be installed Class B network. Ten bits of subnet provides enough subnets of the right size, seems technically good to do and is supportable on our routers. Are there problems with a ten bit subnet mask or reasons not to use such a mask?
