[I hope they are part of AS225 though.] Nope, standard AS225 is a user package, not a developer package. Amiga has not released a to the general public a developer package for AS225(tcp/ip) for AmigaDOS. GfxBase, includes a socket library along with it's X11 Development environment that supports AS225, TSSnet(DECnet), and SANA (local). > (5) What is its interface like ? The Amiga developers kit at this time is a socket library, designed to make it easy to port unix network applications to the Amiga. >Upgrade plan > (6) What are pros and cons of AmigaDOS as a platform instead of AmigaUNIX ? > I believe AmigaDOS servers outperforms on the corresponding UNIX ones, > if they are programmed properly, AmigaDOS does not suffer from some of the bloated overhead that comes with most unix implementations. However it also does not come with alot of the developer tools that you commonly find on those same unix boxes. >Misc. > (8) Are there any PDS which I can take advantage of from my investment ? > [ I heard both AmigaNOS and Amiga-X11 require TCP/IP software, but I'm > noy sure of the exact requirement.] I;m not sure about AmigaNOS, but Amiga-X11 does not require tcp/ip software if you do not need to connect to X11 clients/servers outside your box or if your communication protocol is DECnet. >-- Masaru Sugai:Use disclaimer.
