Message-ID: <1991Jun8.080307.29053@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 8 Jun 91 08:03:07 GMT Article-I.D.: midway.1991Jun8.080307.29053 Sender: news@midway.uchicago.edu (NewsMistress) Organization: As little as possible. Lines: 27 Awright...here's the situation. I am sacrificing my toy for an IBM. Why am I doing it? Because I'd like a portable so I can take notes in class and write papers in the library and do things productive instead of having people knocking on my door asking to play games. What do I have??? Commodore Amiga A500 with 1 MB RAM (512K Chip/512K Fast) 2 Amiga Floppy Drives A-Max II Mac Emulator with Mac Floppy Drive Supra SCSI Controller with Quantum 11 ms 40 MB Hard Disk Practical Peripherals PM2400SA 2400 baud modem Hewlett-Packard Deskjet 500 printer Mouse, 2 joysticks, Manuals, etc. Incredible amounts of software (Word processing/games/demos/graphics/sound/etc) Custom oak disk briefcase for all floppies (approx 400-500) So what do I want out of this deal??? I want a reliable IBM Compatible Portable System. I'd like a 20 MB or greater hard disk and a backlit LCD display or gas plasma display. I'd like a 286 machine or greater. If it's got an internal modem, you get the external modem in my system. The HP DeskJet goes in the deal for an extra $350 on your part (or a Canon BubbleJet (BJ-10e) if you can get one cheaper than $350). The DeskJet is well worth $350, as it was purchased towards the beginning of the school year (late October) and has been used rel atively lightly since then. If you don't want it, I could always use it with the IBM, so that's cool. If you have anything outstanding, I could possibly include cash (not really likely) or include parts (like the DeskJet 500) or other stuff to trade (stereo equipment, CDs, the kitchen sink, etc.). Thanks! _Jerry Dischler_disc@quads.uchicago.edu
