When I display gifs on the workstations here at school the pallet of 256 color changes from a selection of 16.7 million and the gif are displayed almost perfectly. Is this the way the Macs work? Does an 8-bit color board mean you can have 256 colors on the screen at a time from a pallet of many more or does it mean you have 256 colors to choose from? I assume that a 24-bit color board means you can have 24 bits of color information for each pixel, but I am a little confused as you can probably tell. One last question - what kinda a color does a stock LC support? Thanks In Advance - Dan Rubin
