Message-ID: <1991Jun6.225554.5670@doug.cae.wisc.edu> Date: 7 Jun 91 03:55:54 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: Computer Aided Engineering Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison Lines: 15 I have occasion to call FPRead (via AFPCommand). Inside AppleTalk says that one of the outputs from this function is ActCount, the number of bytes actually read (13-123). In "Notes" (13-124) it states, "The ActCount parameter is returned by the underlying transport mechanism and not as a parameter in the reply block." What I am not sure of is what this "underlying transport mechanism" is, and, knowing that, how I can obtain ActCount. Any ideas? I really need to know how many bytes I am reading, so if this thing is buried off in Never-Never land somewhere, is there some cute kludge I can use? Send replies to jverdega@cae.wisc.edu or post here. Thanks much! :-) Jeff Verdegan
