Keywords: suitcase SUITCASE Suitcase 6.0.7 Message-ID: <11893@hub.ucsb.edu> Date: 6 Jun 91 06:56:14 GMT Sender: news@hub.ucsb.edu Distribution: comp Lines: 31 ok...here's an odd one. And it doesn't have ANYTHING to do with System 7.0. Our office just purchased a couple of SE/30's, one with 5 megs of ram, and one with 2. They both came installed with 6.0.7. The machines replaced an SE and another SE/30 that had a bum hd. (they'll be handed down to some lucky student staffers...wheee) ANYWAYS...i was trying to convince my boss that Suitcase WAS a very necessary thing to have, but when i threw Suitcase 1.2.8 into his System Folder, with his assortment of Quickmail, TOPS, and other miscellaneous inits, it didn't even blink when i restarted... no icon, no da, no nothing... so i did the usual, remove all the inits/cdevs except suitcase routine, but alas, still no luck... then i upgraded to 1.2.10 and still the same problem. i renamed it _(space)Suitcase, so that it would load first. Still nothing... not even Sam Intercept was installed... any ideas what the heck is going on? Works on another SE/30 fine... worse yet, works on the students' plus... maybe a tip from the author? :} ---Darryl Lee 6600dayl@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu
