Aside from the sheer stupidity of using a symbolic link as opposed to a hard link, it totally ignores the issue of this being a "gratuitous" change from the standard way of doing things. The answer, "That's the way we made it. Live with it!" is a ridiculous answer from any vendor, even IBM. **FLAME OFF** Sorry, but I get tired of this sometimes. There are other nice people at IBM.
