Message-ID: <962@bcstec.boeing.com> Date: 10 Jun 91 22:22:38 GMT Sender: ced@bcstec.boeing.com Distribution: na Organization: Boeing Computer Services Lines: 39 Has anyone encountered the following bad scenario on AIX: Our caching only nameserver running on an RS6000, rev 3005 has started to mis-load consistently. **************** named.boot is below: **************** ; named.boot ; domain ca.boeing.com primary 0.0.127.in-addr.arpa /etc/named.local ; forwarders 128.207.254.223 128.207.254.44 136.240.1.21 ; $INCLUDE /etc/named.hosts ; cache . /etc/named.ca ***************** end of named.boot ************************ Running named in debug provides the following significant stanzas: ------------------------------------------------------------------ db_load(/etc/named.local, 0.0.127.in-addr.arpa, 1) ... db_load(named.hosts, 0.0.127.in-addr.arpa, 1) db_load: error opening file named.hosts ... ------------------------------------------------------------------ It appears to have stripped the full pathname from /etc/named.hosts and goes blind trying to find it. Does anyone have any theories or know if this has been DIR'ed yet? Any info greatly sought and appreciated.
