Message-ID: <1260@sys.uea.ac.uk> Date: 7 Jun 91 18:48:04 GMT Distribution: comp Organization: UEA, Norwich, UK Lines: 22 Hi, I know how to change the IFS in the Bourne Shell to "::", say, BUT I would like to change it from "" to "". Is this possible ? I've tried IFS="\013" & IFS="\n" to no avail. I be grateful if somebody could tell me as I have to write scripts that handle directories & filenames containing one or more space chars.. Thanx in advance. Please mail me direct.
