I asked the question about graphics file converters, and then posted a
"retraction" because I thought it might be a stupid question.  Well,
I've gotten some very helpful responses anyway (I gues it wasn't such
a stupid question), so thanks to thos who responded.  I'm still getting 
a few, so when they're done I'll summarize.
