What decides where the app-defaults reside?
I have an X11 application which I want to compile and link
(non-sharable) on one machine, and then distribute to others.
But on the source system, X is compiled to use
/local/lib/X11/app-defaults.  The target systems use
/usr/local/lib/X11/app-defaults or /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults.

What to do?  Does the X server fix it all for me, or can I set some
variable when I link my application?
