Irix 3.3.2 Keywords: twm colormap Message-ID: <25228@unix.SRI.COM> Date: 7 Jun 91 22:25:21 GMT Sender: news@unix.SRI.COM Reply-To: nowlin@ace.sri.com (Bill Nowlin) Followup-To: comp.windows.x Distribution: comp Organization: SRI International Lines: 23 Admittedly I tried and failed to find the FAQ guide before asking this question, so here goes anyway. SGI irix 3.3.2, 4D/310VGX X11R4 twm Running under twm, applications are unable to obtain sufficient colormap entries from the default colormap. Creating a new colormap works, but is ugly as you move in and out of the window owning the new colormap. Furthermore, xshowcmap shows a colormap that is startling regular after the first 16 or so entries. Clients that are unable to get the colormap entries they need include xterm and other standard programs. These programs experience no difficulty when running under any other window manager that I have tried. Suggestions? Directions? Objections? Rejections!?
